Hey Mike...I was coming out solo with my trailer but now have a couple of newbies with me...well at least one. Beverly is going to her Grandmas so it's my weekend to play. I think I'll camp on the other side at the old location and maybe see you guys out in the dunes. I'm thinking you should join me???

 What this? Is the new camp location scaring off old time ASA NRG folks? :(
I'd like to join you Jerry, but I'm going to give it a shot "with/near the Glamis Dunes.com" group.
If you change your mind, you're welcome to hang with us. If not, lets be sure to meet up for a ride or two.

Is anyone else looking at the forecast for this weekend? Well I did and the temps are looking mighty nice 8) . The Weather Channel is forecasting highs in the mid 80's and lows in the upper 50's \:D/

I saw the weather forecast and liked what I saw. I'll be out at 2-2:30ish in the afternoon. That should give me some time to get camp set up and do a late afternoon ride. I want the new guys, who have ridden before, to at least get a day ride in before we start riding at night.

Those of you who didn't make it missed my impression of the human lawn dart  .

It was pretty hard to see due to all of the blowing sand, I would look down the edge of the dune and all I could see with my helmet light was blowing sand and darkness, it really sucked. I was coming up a little fast and found a drop off slip face the hard way. I had almost come to a stop at the top but my front tires dug in and the momentum of my body helped me propell myself over the bars, luckily it was soft, and also luckily Woodglue and GlamisLovingFool were quick into action to help get me untangled from the quad. I would say it was about 30 feet to the bottom and I was very glad that I was ok. Trying to find a good line out there after that was nearly an impossible task, the last thing that I wanted was a repeat performance of that experience.

Coming back from olds, Jason locked up a trx450r. We were cruising back to camp on flat ground at a fairly good clip, around 40mph and I was behind him. The quad hit a little bump getting maybe 18" off the ground and just shut off in the air. He went to start it and it was locked up 100% solid. Did you find the cause of the lock yet? Having the same quad, I am very curious to see what happened and what caused it. I have never seen one of those stop like that. :-k

George,
Jason's quad had the air filter fall off inside the air box. It sucked mega sand into the engine. He called me when he was starting to take it apart, heard metal rattling inside the exhust    , not good. Found metal in the air intake    , also not good. Engine is seized solid. Haven't talked to him in a couple of days......

That sucks! With the fact that I own two of those quads, I'm glad to hear that it was a preventable failure.... that being said I feel very bad for Jason. Please post some pics of the damage when he gets it apart [-o<
