Have they started to lay down the geotextile piece to the road? Or the material to make it more solid for MH's etc.

Yes which option did they approve :?: I hope it's through the W20's :) A good road surface should help with user, emergency, enforcment, & maintenance access as well as dispersed camping opportunities that will improve visitors outdoor experiance while minimizing environmental impacts  At least that's what I tried to say in my letter of support for the alternative going to W28

To be truthful, I'm actually very surprised, in a good way, that any of this was successful. The way things have been going, I thought for sure it would never happen. Kudos to everyone involved.

I wondered where that info was coming from so did a quick search and found this which states clearly on page 5 para 2.2 that the new road will go from Hwy 78 to wash 25! I'm ecstatic that I'll be able to continue to camp in wash 22+!

This is taken from Wash 9 looking North towards Wash 7 about 100' East of Wash Road. This is the same dune that I once posted a pic of ding-dong with his FunRunner stuck on at a vertical 45 degree angle. The dune is pretty much gone now.

They have pictures on the GlamisDunes.com site showing bottom dump trucks hauling gravel onto the new road! It's coming along quickly now.

Dunes Manager Neil Hamada has related that they have completed the first layer of the new road to wash 25. The dump trucks will continue working the rest of this week adding additional material to areas for additional stability. There are additional volunteers, that approached the BLM at the sand show, that are working on the road driving water trucks and loaders.

Mr. Hamada requests that visitors stay out of the construction areas until all the work is complete.

Also as visitors utilize this new road they should take care when they enter the camping areas as the areas adjacent to the new road may have some disturbed areas that will be soft. It will take a while for some of the entrance areas to become stable. Just be aware of this and there should not be a problem.
