ATV Safety Training Requirements @ ISDRA

What's the Requirement on ATV Safety Training for ATV operators under 18? Polaris does training @ the time of purchase. Is the Polaris Dealer Training sufficient for the Rangers & Sheriffs

I've read things about under the supervision of an adult etc., but it's not really cut & dry.

The course is generally taught by the ATV Safety Institute, not a dealer. You will receive a certificate of completion at the end that you must carry to supervise kids riding. Call them at 800 887 2887.

The ICSO ohvest site has and/or that makes it almost sound like parental supervision is all that's necessary

Polaris offer a training program @ the time of purchase rather than paying for the ATVSI program unlike Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki & Yamaha. Paying for the course isn't as much of an issue as getting the training in Cottonwood AZ. I know one Family with a Yamaha & a Honda who have been trying for a month, so they would be ready for Dune Season. Our kids are always under adult supervision, so I guess we'll take our Polaris certificate with us this trip & try to get ATVSI training before the next trip

I called and put my daughter's name in for the next course they have in the Phoenix area. Unfortunately, they don't know when that might be. It all depends on when they get enough people together in an area. I need/want her to take the class by Christmas. Even though she has been riding her quad for about 3 years, i feel it would be a good learning experience.

I called & gave them our VIN# on the Honda @ 800-887-2887 & they said they only do about 2 classes per year in our area unless we get a group together of 5+ riders for a special group class. My daughters class will cost $75 & my Wifes will be free. I'm taking my Polaris Certificate as a Polaris ATV Rider Safety Instructor & my daughters certificate from that training this trip. We'll have the other certificates by our next trip I hope. The kids are always under Adult supervision especially since they are all under 10.

My son took the course 2 years ago. I found the original letter from the ATVSI and a business card we got from the instructor following the course.

The form says: "My kids name has completed the ATV RiderCourse date Conducted by instructors name, License #."

Is this the certificate in question? I was expecting something larger sent out in the mail later.

That's it! I had mine laminated so it would last longer.
