Rail/ATV Storage?

Post by RichB » Fri May 19, 2006 8:38 am

Anyone know of a place where we could store our stuff (Buggy/Bikes) for a few days so we could break off and do the tourist thing (Yellowstone, Jackson, etc.....) while in that neck of the woods?

None of us have been to that part of the country so we really want to see Yellowstone and the surrounding just as much as to go duning.

I'll bet Aura-Lee at the Oasis would let you, just pay the "Dry Camp fee"...

If you have not been:

Try to take in Jackson Hole, Wy. It's a nice tourist town with shops [for the women] :D and bars for the men...

Hotels right in town.

The Grand Tetons sit to the west as you drive south from Yellowstone.

Nope, we've never been. I've been trying to hold off as long as possible (let the kids get older) and before I retire out of the military. Next summer we're going to make it happen as May-Jun of 08 I'll be retiring and when "I get a real job" I'll obviously be starting from scratch on vacation time.

Judging by your comments I take it you're suggesting we just leave the trailer near the dunes and hotel it, we were not thinking of doing that if for no other reason we have the doggies to think about.

I know it's a long way off but it'd be cool to be there when some of the ASA folks are there as well.

Thanks for the tips,

Rich

RV Storage

Post by theboofooguy » Wed May 24, 2006 2:17 pm

Hey Rich,

I live in Rigby, Idaho...."bout 20 minutes fron the dunes. I'm on an acre and a half, and for fellow ASA members, I'd be more than happy to store your stuff. I even have an Attack Siberian Husky to watch over everything..lol..From my house, Yellowstone is 90 miles, and about the same to Jackson. Lemme know when you're coming and we'll roll out the red carpet...

Evolving Business

Post by theboofooguy » Thu May 25, 2006 6:58 am

Hey Roger,

If leaving the rig here will help get you more dune time, then by all means... I'm pretty sure Rich was talking about the garage to store his stuff so he can use his trailer. Parking a trailer here is even easier.. My Dad would never believe it in a million years.....He still insists he's going to bring the Turbo Alchie Autocraft up here and school me.. If there really was enough interest, I'd buy some land in St. Anthony, and use it for a storage .....Hmmm :?

These guys just did it....

And I predict that they're going to make a killing.

You need the land, a Dump Station [unless there's one near-by] and some sort of security [a fence, cameras, on-site host, etc]. A water-bib and propane filling station would also be nice for filling up the rig before moving on.

Go 4 it :!:

Dune Excursions has 4 empty 15X24 storage bays 1 mile south of the dunes give them a call. They can help you out. :P

Thanks for the information and the invite.....we'll be making something happen next summer for sure. I know it's a ways out, but I'm getting my ducks in a row so we lock into the idea of it happening :!:

If I make a drive from Boise to St. Anthony, what do you have that I can rent, and what is the rate? I have owned several Honda 250R's, both 3 wheelers and quads, and have ridden Banshees and Suz 500's, but have not ridden the new Honda or Yamaha 4 stroke quads....can ride 2 wheeler, but wife not happy, if I do....
