Free VW/Banshee stuff

Post by djw » Sun Jul 27, 2008 2:29 pm

Moving from one garage to the other.
Come and get them or off to the recycler they go. No warranties, and won’t ship as I never get around to getting to the local shipping place. :D
I’m in Riverside 92509.

1 each 12V type one starter, worked at the time I pulled it from my old rail.
2 each long stock rear torsion bars, my new rail I run the shorter ones.
2 each almost brand new 5 lug swing axle brake drums (short spline). I have IRS, these have been bolted up one time on the old swing axle car. Never run but look in great condition, maybe a turn as they have been sitting. Oh and they need studs, manufacture is OMC.
2 each VW type one dual port heads. No valves, they’re studded for the exhaust and valve train. Best I can figure out the bore is around 3.890 inches, (I’ve got to get a pair of metric calipers) #-o
Probably a machined in 1835, based on a 69mm stroke.
Didn’t see any cracks, or burned seats, threads look cool, but need to be cleaned up.
I was going to use them to practice on my porting skills.

I’ll throw in the spider webs and dust, but have a compressor on site if you don’t need them.

I also have a pair of new Banshee rear swing arm bearings; one main seal, (in Yamaha packaging) and one of those boost bottles.

Well you probably have less than $2 in scrap (not worth the haul to the yard)
You might just haul them with you to the sand (next time you go ) and have a Free parts box with a donation envelope stuck on the side :D

I could probably get rid of the starter and drums (here in Yuma AZ) Have you seen my scrap pile

Heads are 3.89 inch? = 98.806 millimeter (might be 90.5mm or 92mm piston)
