This is a great buggy with a lot of nice parts, at a starter buggy price. You can't go wrong with a Mendeola/Subaru combination if you like to dune. It is the perfect set up.

Pad 3 is just after the turnoff to Gecko Campground (probably about a city block or so south if the turn off) on the left(east) and pad 5 is directly accross Gecko Road from pad 3 on the right (west). Don't turn too early, make sure you see the signs for the pad before you turm off Gecko Road. --Mike

The dunes are wet and the wind blew hard on Monday night creating some interesting hazards. At about 8:00 last night, it was 42 degrees. BURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! :shock: :shock:

The off road community lost a great and compassionate leader. Roy will be missed. I question whether there is someone with the compassion and willingness to sacrifice their time to fill the void.

Previously, I spoke to Tim, owner of Xtreme and he said that he would give me my money back if I didn't like them. Pacific Custom in Corona has them listed on their web page for $310.00+tax

Larry-- At one time there was a bad thread regarding Xtremes over on Glamis Dunes.com. There are still those that support the Xtremes and it may have been a bad lot (really unfair if that is the case). I don't know first hand. How bad can the Xtremes be?? There are some for sale on the Glamis Dunes....

Hi Larry--

Can you use the 14" wheels with a different (custom) offset and get it in your trailer??

Xtreme tires have a bit of a bad reputation, whether deserved or not. You know what you are getting with STU or STof A.

What is your attraction to a V8??

Do you like the sound?? Can't be the handling or the power?? V8s typically are much heavier rails and weight does little to help dune. Capable, but smaller and lighter cars dune better than V8s any day.

As I recall, it is 17 miles from RR to Duner's Dinner. Not sure on a quad with gas, but you wouldn't think that you could do much duning once you got there, without extra fuel??

The tire monitors are not specific to the vehicle and can be moved from vehicle to vehicle. It is a wireless monitor, just not real cheap. see link below
