During New Years, the gate was open, I had friends that were camped down from 78 at the bridge, in Desiel Pushers, so I think the road is passable. So why was the gate open if we were all told it would be closed, it was closed down at Gordon's?

Let us klnow how it works, I normally go S-2 to 78 thru Octillo, but that option will be shut down. If going to the South dunes, this might be a great alternative. The 15 to 8 route looks great on a map, but the hills on both freeways eat up more fuel and you are in the in the rat race of commuters....

In Canyon Lake, golf carts and rhino's are normal modes of transportation. We even have golf cart shows for the community. No stunts or anything like that but paint and stereo and lifts. All you have to do is pull the cam gear off the cam, pretty easy. Just mark the belt and all gears so they line up again, while you are at it you might as well change the timing belt.....As for the Timing belt tensioner, make sure you have something that can depress it, it is hydralic.

I heard some sad news: A guy on a quad was hit by the train while crossing over the tracks. Seems there was a mad dash at 2:45pm to get back over to BMV, before the 3pm dead line... Some guy tried to go over the top and stalled his bike. Alleged he stayed with the quad and might have been hurt bad?...

Great idea, how quick can you get out of them if your car is on fire? For other safety meaures, you should be able to get out of them in 1.5 seconds, faster than your seatbelt.

So anyone that has a street legal vehicle towed into your camp is subject to have to have another pass if you drive it on Gecko or even the Wash Road?
