As to the gas tank thing, yes it looks like he is welding on the gas tank, this can be done safely as long as the gas vapors are displaced ahead of time. I have welded on the underground storage tanks at gas stations, thats how we used to fix leaks when the tanks were still made out of steel :twiste...

If you have VW spindles any sandrail shop should be able to fix you up, but you need a sealled bearing so I doubt your local auto parts store would have it. In So. Cal. try Kar-Tek, FunRunner, or Prowlers. :twisted: 8) :)

What about use the same design as in the drawing, but make the pole it is mounted to go up another 3 feet or so, and put a swinging collar at the top and a cable to the other top corner or if the gate was all metal you could use round stock, but I prefer a cable with a turnbuckle. :twisted: 8) :)

It went well overall, most of the grants are the same as last year, Glamis's Law Enforcement grant has a most of the same things as last year, it is broken down differently.The grant is for about 850,000 and wants the BLM and not Imp. county to hire the outside L.E. 8) :twisted:

I try to stay between 60 and 65 on the open road, I like to think that I have outgrown my younger and more reckless days when I used to make a run twice a week from Stockton to L.A. in a fully loaded semi in 4 hours (just over 300 miles) looking back, not the best idea. I would start with about 7 lbs and go from there. I run around 5 lbs in my ss6 but with a 2180 vw so it is a little lighter than yours. I woud not go less than 5 lbs without beadlocks. :twisted: 8) :)

Ross, In wet sand paddles often hook up to well. I would try the stock tires first and if you want more traction try putting your paddles on backwards :twisted: 8) :)
