Chowder, I am glad you brought this topic back to life. It serves as a reminder to some people that it is NOT OK to leave your rigs out there parked for days or weeks on end just to save yourself a spot. These people should expect to be cited and or towed.

As per Quad Magazine. Pismo is more than 200 State Parks that are being proposed for closure. I don't ride here but it is definately not good news for those that do.

I was just out there this morning around 7A. I drove the Wash Road from Glamis/78 to Ogilby Road. Wash Road is still open and it does not look like UP has taken any further action at this point to close it. (i.e no new construction.)
