It all goes to show leading is a learned profession and is a talent in and above itself, especially in the dunes. I had an old tunnel (VW pan) buggy like that and took it out there in '73/'74. With the old 40 hp engines you really couldn't do too much meaning climbing the old OLDs hill that was straight up. And Comp Hill behind Osborne was a real steep dune back in those days. Now you wouldn't know it was there...

Most of the eastbound trains are carrying various good from the Orient headed to Midwest and East Coast distribution points. You name it, its in there. The trains heading west bound are products heading back to the Orient built by us.

Thanksgiving week is dune Nirvana. Expect to see lots 'o people from the weekend before thru the whole week and everyone leaving at the same time on Sunday. If you do manage to find a rental and start riding in either the Dunes or Ocotillo Wells at this time of year. Is to have someone to ride with and take PLENTY of water. BM might start by taking all those dollars off the walls towards an overpass. But it all gets back to the RR, they would still have to sign off on a overpass on their property. I doubt $100k is enough anyway.

Be nice if they would take care of Ogilby's access road Most of that road is on private property... At least that is the reason the BLM gives for not maintaining it. Then why are they enforcing dune access permits? Shouldn't the BLM be maintaining the road for its users and help the property owner ...
