My first HDD was a "hard card" as it had the controller card built in.... I think it was 15MB or close to it.

I haven't had any problems with registration at the DMV. They never looked twice at my buggy when I registered it... I also recently bought a 1980 RX7 which they didn't seem to care about the purchase price. The lady at the DMV who did the transfer for my RX7 knew that I didn't buy it for 100 dollar...
